The Stellar School Logo
Artistic depictions of butterflies have been used in many cultures including Egyptian hieroglyphics 3500 years ago. Today, butterflies are widely used in various objects of art. A butterfly is seen as the personification of a person’s soul.
The background in the painting depicts the earth in all its glory. The butterfly represents the child, the left side of the painting which shows the colourless wing of the butterfly symbolizes the child beginning his/her journey at Stellar. The child is like a vessel waiting to be filled, with knowledge, with a sense of justice, truth, the ability to reason and nurture his/her God gifted talents.
The right side of the butterfly is beautifully coloured in stark contrast to the colourless left side. The right side symbolizes the child after having gone through the Stellar experience. The child adds colour to the world (as shown in the background) and the bright colours reflect the positive contribution being made to humanity.
In some old cultures, butterflies symbolize rebirth into a new life after being inside a cocoon for a period of time. The logo reflects Stellar’s philosophy of enriching the world with beautiful minds, hearts and souls, and opening a whole new world to the children.
